Technically and artistically: The original Malayalam versions of the 2016 films are vastly superior. The acting, sound design, and direction are cohesive. A dubbed version, especially a pirated one from Isaimini, is a pale imitation.

However, "easier to understand" does not mean "cinematically better." The 2016 Malayalam originals are masterpieces of world cinema precisely because of their linguistic and cultural specificity. Dubbing them, especially via a piracy site that cares nothing for audio quality, strips away their identity.

The very reason we had so many great Malayalam films in 2016 is because people paid to see them. When you choose a grainy, badly dubbed Isaimini rip over a legal version (available on Amazon Prime or Sun NXT with proper dubs), you are telling producers that regional cinema isn't worth investing in.
