Standard uninstalls often leave behind thousands of orphaned registry keys. A portable version touches the registry only temporarily (usually for file association while running) and leaves no trace upon closing.
Do not run the .exe from within a zipped folder. Extract the entire contents (usually 800MB to 1.2GB) to D:\PortableApps\AcrobatPro\ .
Run AcrobatPortable.exe (not the standard Acrobat.exe). This wrapper ensures the environment variables point to the local Data folder instead of AppData .
