Day 1.
That was the first crack in the wall. Day 10: I Stop Being a Fixer I’d spent nine days trying to “solve” Mira. On Day 10, I tried something radical: I asked, “What would feel safe right now?”
I almost panicked. Instead, I said: “Remember Day 13? The mailbox felt like Mount Everest. Now you can do it in your sleep. This is just another mailbox.”
“I see someone who survived 16 days of hell and still got up to brush her teeth. That’s not disappointment. That’s a warrior on a break.”
She said: “If you just sat here and didn’t talk.”
She laughed. First time in weeks.
Start asking “what do you need right now.” The answer might be silence. Or a sandwich. Or you just sitting on the floor.
